Acrylic on canvas (50 x 40).
Inspired by the fairy tale Snow White and the life story of the Pearl Concubine we created this portrait of Consort Zhen, a concubine of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty in China. Zhen, also known as the Pearl Concubine, was killed in 1900 after being thrown into a well behind the Ningxia Palace at the Forbidden City.
