I really loved working on this Egyptian theme animation for Ted-Ed. I've been fascinated with the Egyptians since primary school so was excited to be able to create this lesson on Queen Hatshepset. Now I don't know about everyone else but I don't actually remember learning about Hatshepset at school. This could be because I was only 9 and I've just forgotten... or perhaps it was too advanced a lesson for my primary school. Anyway as part of my research I did a lot of reading about this kick ass lady from the past. She sounded pretty awesome for her time and I had great fun bringing her to life!
If you're familiar with my work you'll know I love drawing pretty faces and girly things. So I loved designing the character for Hatshepsut, or Hattie, as educator Kate Narev calls her. :) We were all really pleased with the results and it has so far got the most reach of all my TedEd animations. We even got a mention on Upworthy! :D
